Birth Control in an ear of corn? The wave of the future…

Posted by justanotherstayathomemom on July 8, 2009

Well, we can thank Glenn Beck for clue-ing me in to this little tid-bit of information.  He was interviewing an author of a new book called “The Doomsday Key”.  The author talked about researching GMO foods and how he found out about a company, called Epicyte, which developed a line of GMO corn which renders males who eat it infertile.

Did you get that?  The men who ate the corn can no longer make sperm….no sperm, no babies.

Check it out for yourselves…http://www.healthfreedomusa.org/?p=563

A small California biotech company, Epicyte, in 2001 announced the development of genetically engineered corn which contained a spermicide which made the semen of men who ate it sterile. At the time Epicyte had a joint venture agreement to spread its technology with DuPont and Syngenta, two of the sponsors of the Svalbard Doomsday Seed Vault. Epicyte was since acquired by a North Carolina biotech company. Astonishing to learn was that Epicyte had developed its spermicidal GMO corn with research funds from the US Department of Agriculture, the same USDA which, despite worldwide opposition, continued to finance the development of Terminator technology, now held by Monsanto.

Ahhhh, our old friends Monsanto.  Did you watch the movie from the last post yet?  Wow, these guys are into everything…

The rest of the article is even scarier….read on….

In the 1990’s the UN’s World Health Organization launched a campaign to vaccinate millions of women in Nicaragua, Mexico and the Philippines between the ages of 15 and 45, allegedly against Tentanus, a sickness arising from such things as stepping on a rusty nail. The vaccine was not given to men or boys, despite the fact they are presumably equally liable to step on rusty nails as women.

Because of that curious anomaly, Comite Pro Vida de Mexico, a Roman Catholic lay organization became suspicious and had vaccine samples tested. The tests revealed that the Tetanus vaccine being spread by the WHO only to women of child-bearing age contained human Chorionic Gonadotrophin or hCG, a natural hormone which when combined with a tetanus toxoid carrier stimulated antibodies rendering a woman incapable of maintaining a pregnancy. None of the women vaccinated were told.

It later came out that the Rockefeller Foundation along with the Rockefeller’s Population Council, the World Bank (home to CGIAR), and the United States’ National Institutes of Health had been involved in a 20-year-long project begun in 1972 to develop the concealed abortion vaccine with a tetanus carrier for WHO. In addition, the Government of Norway, the host to the Svalbard Doomsday Seed Vault, donated $41 million to develop the special abortive Tetanus vaccine.

I used to wonder why some peep’s, mainly homeschoolers and the like, refused to vaccinate their children.  Some think it causes Autism, which there is a lot of evidence, to say the least, of a connection, and some think vaccines are just unecessary in a society which has virtually eradicated most of the diseases we routinely vaccinate for.  Now, I find out our own government, along with the WHO (world health organization) had developed a vaccined to make a certain sect of women unable to carry a pregnancy to term.

Utter Ridiculousness.

I think I may have to stop eating corn.  If this has been planted out in the open, and methinks it likely has, do we really think this corn was contained to only the test fields into which it was planted?  Do I look stupid to you?  No wonder we have a crazy amount of women on fertility drugs.  If this stuff is out there, and it is currently in some farmer’s field, reproducing and infecting other strains of corn, we have no way of knowing if we are eating it or not because our fantastic former president declaired GMO’s and regular food the same and therefore they don’t need to be labled as such.

Think about how many things we eat that have corn, corn syrup, and high fructose corn syrup in them….

Hundreds of thousands of items….everything from your ketchup to your soft drinks to your yogurt and even your applesauce (unless your like me and get unsweetened applesauce).

More to come on corn syrup and it’s chemical cousin high-fructose corn syrup…

I betcha can’t wait!!!

GMO’s–Genetically Modified Organisms–Frankenfood

Posted by justanotherstayathomemom on June 22, 2009

Well, a good friend of mine sent me an email today about GMO’s and how they are the bane of society.

I tend to agree with her.

I understand the basic premise of altering our food’s genetic make-up for the better-ment of society, mainly by food becoming shelf stable for a long time…a really long time.  And because it looks fantastic…you don’t realize that tomato you are eating on your hamburger is acutally three weeks old.  It’s an atrocity.  How nutritious do you think that tomato is?  How long do you think it took to get to your local Micky D’s?

We really have lost all touch with reality when it comes to our food.

GMO’s can currently be found in 95% of our corn supply, in our canola, soy and cotton.  All of these are marketed by a company called Monsanto, a multi-billion dollar pesticide and seed manufacturer.

They own patents on seeds.  If they find their seed growing in your field because it blew in from another farmer’s field, or was dropped there by a passing bird, they will sue you.  Nice folks.

Now, the powers that be, are getting ready to add wheat to the GMO list.  And then, whether you want to or not, you will be eating wheat created in a lab.  Kewl.  Really (rolls eyes).

Here is a really neat movie about our food system and how perverted it is courtesy of Monsanto and greed.  It’s long, about an hour and a half, but it’s eye opening.

 http://www.hulu.com/watch/67878/the-future-of-food

(one of these days i will figure out how to imbed one of these video thingies)

I have watched about half of it, and it’s very disturbing, to say the least.

I don’t know what else to say about it.  We have to change our diet, I have to change our diet.  I’m working on it.

hmmm…i will be doing more research on this topic…it’s very interesting to me

It’s a question of ethics, really…

Posted by justanotherstayathomemom on June 18, 2009

Let’s say you manage a store.  A grocery store.  You have many employees, and do a pretty good job of running it, so far.  One of your employees, Jerry, whom was hired by the former manager, tells you that one of your other employees, John, has stolen some apples.

Well, you thank him, of course, and then, two days later, you fire Jerry.

Without warning.

Without cause.

Jerry doesn’t understand because when he was hired, the store’s policy on firing is that you are given a reason for being fired and you are given a week to find a new job.  (It’s a pretty nice policy, one that you, when you were the meat manager, and a few other managers wrote up and asked to be put into the store’s handbook.)

What Jerry didn’t know is that you and John are best friends, and John actually went to bat for you when you applied for the “General Manager” position at the store.  He is a great friend and you are NOT going to let a little theft get in the way of that.

Now, of course YOU wouldn’t fire Jerry, right?  I mean, he did the RIGHT thing by telling you one of your employees was stealing, RIGHT?

That was the correct and ethical thing to do, report someone stealing, letting the boss know what was going on under his nose because he is busy doing lots of other grocery related things.

Well….what if I told you our “wonderful” President Obama has done this very thing…just a few days ago.

The MSM (main stream media) isn’t covering it…they are too busy covering Hillary breaking her elbow and who’s “the world’s hottest bachelor.”

AmeriCorps attorney general Gerald Walpin was fired, without reason, for alerting President Obama that the mayor of Sacramento, Kevin Johnson, had basically stolen over $800,000 dollars of taxpayer money for car washes, among other things.

What Walpin didn’t know is that Obama and Johnson are friends, and Johnson is a huge supporter of Obama.

It must be nice to have friends in high places.  You can steal, lie and cheat, and still not loose your job.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,526650,00.html

Now, why should this matter to you and me?  Obama co-sponsored a bill, while he was still a Senator, that required Congress be given a 30 day notice AND justifiable reasons why an inspector general was to be fired.  Obama did none of these things.  Someone pissed him off, he fired him without notice AND after a few days came up with a the lame excuse that Walpin was “disheveled” at a meeting back in May.

Whatever.

So, this means, Obama can and will do whatever he wants, despite the rules he himself passed into law.  Apparently the law doesn’t matter anymore.  This means very few people, if any, will dare to go up against our illustrious President, for fear of losing their job.

Ridiculous.

Utter Ridiculousness.

“The Watchmen” Movie, and the 8yr old girl next to me…

Posted by justanotherstayathomemom on March 17, 2009

I went on a date…with my hubby!!  Yeah, it doesn’t happen all that often, so when it does, I get pretty excited.  We went to a place called The Movie Tavern, where you eat actual food and can drink beer, wine or cokes!  Hubby loved being able to drink a beer while watching a movie.  I had a huge plate of nachos (they needed more cheese) and hubby had quesadillas (he thinks they were deep fried, they were super crispy…too crispy).  The food was fine, and we will likely go back cuz, yknow, two birds…one stone…

Anyway, the movie was hmmmm, ok.  It’s about 2 1/2 hours and has some great action scenes.  It’s about a group of superheroes and their lives together.  One of them gets killed, and some of the others come together to figure out who did it and to stop more murders of other heroes.  The movie has a lot of back story moments. and while we need to know the back story, it slows down the movie quite a bit.  After awhile, I was like, who cares! Let’s get on with @ss kicking already!  Anyway, several times I was wondering how much longer it would last…I don’t often do that…I am pretty easily entertained when it comes to movies.  The filming was great and it did have lots of cool effects and stop action sequences and slow motion.

One of the characters, Dr. Manhattan, is worth mentioning because he was naked the entire movie, except for a few times.  He is glowing and blue and, apparently, all-knowing and all-seeing and can manipulate everything, metal, sand, water, among other things.  His back story was cool, and pretty fast.  The reason I mention his nakedness is because we get a full frontal…EVERYTIME!!!  And let me tell ya ladies, if he is that big flacid…I shutter to think how big it would be erect!!  YIKES!!!  It was very distracting because everytime he was on screen, I invariably had to look at it.  You know, it’s not like I have never seen a p*nis before, but y’know, it’s not often I see one on a 40 foot screen, and blue…  My hubby felt the same way, he was looking at it too.  Human nature.  All I could think was, d*mn, you would be bo-legged after that….but…I digress…

Anyway.. Soapbox alert

There was a little girl sitting next to me.  She was probably 7-9 years old.  Now, I am no expert at guessing ages, but she was obviously NOT 17.  This is a rated r movie for a reason, as children should not be allowed to see it.  It is very violent, with sex and tons of cussing.  The girl covered her eyes several times, as did I, but you could still hear the power saw cutting thru a mans forearms…you could still hear anther man’s skull get hacked to pieces with a cleaver….when I say violent, I mean VIOLENT.

I wanna know what the hell the mother was thinking?  I would have left…wait, I would never let my kid see that in the first place, so that is a moot point.  At what point, in the decision making process, did the mom say to herself, ” hmm, it’s rated r, but I’m sure it’s not that bad, I mean it’s about heroes, right?”

Did she ever stop to think that those images will be with her kid for awhile?  Maybe give her nightmares?  Did that occur to her??  I say this from experience, when I was a child, like 7 or 8, my mom and her first husband took me to see “The Exorcist” at the drive-inn.  Well, what a lovely movie for a child!  I remember looking out the back windshield at a cartoon that was playing across the lot, trying not to look at the screen or listen to the words.  I remember that to this day.

Do parents consider what they let thier children watch these days anymore???  We are watching alot of PBS because there is no violence, and I don’t have to worry about it, not even the commercials (well the promos for the business that donate money).  I’ve talked before about my friends and thier kids, who are 4 and 2, how they went to see “Batman Begins.”  When we finally saw it on DVD, we just shook our heads at how irresponsible it is to let babies see such violence.  No wonder we have a legion of children who routinely lash out at teachers, parents and each other.  It couldn’t have anything to do with the fodder we let them watch on the movie screen, could it…of course not….(says with heavy sarcasm)

Anyway, I feel sorry for so many kids that are subjected to this trash because the parents don’t have enough sense to stay home and watch “Cars” instead…(shakes head and sighs)

Anyway, as for the movie…I wouldn’t watch it again.  Hubby feels the same.  I asked him if he would buy it and he said no.

“Gran Torino” was far superior…and is worth buying.

Rick Warren’s inaugural prayer and why I don’t like it

Posted by justanotherstayathomemom on January 23, 2009

Almighty God, our father, everything we see and everything we can’t see exists because of you alone. It all comes form you, it all belongs to you, it all exists for your glory. History is your story. The Scripture tells us, ‘Hear, oh Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is one’ and you are the compassionate and merciful one and you are loving to everyone you have made.

Now today we rejoice not only in America’s peaceful transfer of power for the 43rd time, we celebrate a hinge-point of history with the inauguration of our first African American president of the united states. We are so grateful to live in this land, a land of unequaled possibility, where a a son of an African Immigrant can rise to the highest level of our leadership. And we know today that Dr. King and a great cloud of witnesses are shouting in heaven.

Give to our new president, Barack Obama, the wisdom to lead us with humility, the courage to lead us with integrity, the compassion to lead us with generosity. Bless and protect him, his family, Vice President Biden, the Cabinet and every one of our freely elected leaders.

Help us, oh God, to remember that we are Americans. United not by race or religion or by blood, but to our commitment to freedom and justice for all. When we focus on ourselves, when we fight each other, when we forget you, forgive us.

When we presume that our greatness and our prosperity is ours alone, forgive us. when we fail to treat our fellow human beings and all the earth with the respect that they deserve, forgive us. And as we face these difficult days ahead, may we have a new birth of clarity in our aims, responsibility in our actions, humility in our approaches and civility in our attitudes—even when we differ.

Help us to share, to serve and to seek the common good of all. May all people of good will today join together to work for a more just, a more healthy and a more prosperous nation and a peaceful planet. And may we never forget that one day, all nations, all people will stand accountable before You. We now commit our new president and his wife Michelle and his daughters, Malia and Sasha, into your loving care.

I humbly ask this in the name of the one who changed my life—Yeshua, Esa, Jesus, Jesus—who taught us to pray:

Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be they name. They kingdom come, they will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

What’s wrong with this “prayer”…

well, Esa, also known to Muslims as Isa, is their version of Jesus.  There’s that whole idea of “Allah” simply being Arabic for God, but we know that they mean something very different when they say “Allah” from when we say “God”.

When they say “Isa”, they mean a person who will lead people to “Allah”, who will be subservient to Mohammad, and is very different from what we mean when we say “Jesus”.

This is what he said, and if he’s claiming Jesus to be the same as Islam’s “Isa”, this isn’t good.

Wikipedia:
Isa (Arabic script عيسى) is an Arabic name corresponding to Jesus in English. It is a common male given name for the Arabs and other Islamic peoples.

Arabic-speaking Muslims refer to Jesus as Isa, while Arabic-speaking Christians refer to Jesus as Yasu (Arabic script يسوع). Jesus is considered a prophet in Islam (see Islamic view of Jesus), and his name is used in these two forms in the Qur’an and Arabic versions of the Bible, respectively.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isa_(name)

Jesus in Islam (Arabic: عيسى‎ `Īsā) is a messenger of God who had been sent to guide the Children of Israel (banī isrā’īl) with a new scripture, the Injīl (gospel).[1]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_in_Islam

http://www.answering-islam.org/Responses/Abualrub/true-name-isa.htm

“Jesus – Hay-soos” doesn’t have the same cultural background as “Isa” does, nor is “Isa” simply a transliteration of “Iesous”, as Jesus is. Isa is a different word altogether, and has its own meaning, that being a false christ.

Islam expert Robert Spencer at JihadWatch.org, an organization dedicated to bringing public attention to jihad theology and defending Western society, criticized Warren for including a common refrain from Islam’s Quran – “You are the compassionate and merciful one.”.

“‘The compassionate, the merciful’ is, of course, a reference to the invocation at the beginning of every chapter of the Qur’an except one: Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim, ‘In the name of Allah, the compassionate, the merciful,’” Spencer writes. “Making sure everyone feels included – terrific. But the prayer indicates yet again that there is little general awareness of the reasons why the term ‘Judeo-Christian-Islamic values’ is a misnomer.”

Warren also included the foundational Jewish prayer Shema Yisrael, “Hear, O Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is one,” and the prayer beginning with the words “Our Father,” revered by Christians as the Lord’s Prayer.

“the future is not about secularism, it is religious pluralism.” Warren also called for interfaith projects to replace interfaith dialogue.

Jesus died on a cross, Isa did not.

Yes…he knew what he was saying, he knows who Isa is because he recently spoke at a muslim convention

Just wanted y’all to know this…warren is a type of false prophet…don’t buy into his purpose driven lies!!

Obama to Lift Ban on Overseas Abortion Funding

Posted by justanotherstayathomemom on January 23, 2009

President Obama on Friday is expected to lift a ban on federal funding for groups that help provide abortions abroad, reversing a policy of his predecessor, George W. Bush.

Obama will sign the executive order one day after the 36th anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion in all 50 states.

The policy, known as the Mexico City policy, requires any non-governmental organization to agree before receiving U.S. funds that they will “neither perform nor actively promote abortion as a method of family planning in other nations.”

The policy was first instituted by President Ronald Reagan in 1984 and continued by President George H.W. Bush. The policy was reversed by President Bill Clinton in 1993, and re-instated by President George W. Bush in 2001.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/first10 … n-funding/

So…not only is ok to kill our own children, but now it is ok to kill the children of the world!!

How can he be a Christian, Christ follower, and put a stamp of aproval on two pieces of legislation that will indeed cause more abortions to happen???  The two do NOT go together.

I truly don’t understand…..he is obviously not a real Christian…in name only but not in actions.

Freedom of Choice Act is really freedom to murder

Posted by justanotherstayathomemom on January 21, 2009

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c110:H.R.1964:

A BILL

To protect, consistent with Roe v. Wade, a woman’s freedom to choose to bear a child or terminate a pregnancy, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the `Freedom of Choice Act’.

SEC. 2. FINDINGS.

Congress finds the following:

(1) The United States was founded on core principles, such as liberty, personal privacy, and equality, which ensure that individuals are free to make their most intimate decisions without governmental interference and discrimination.

(2) One of the most private and difficult decisions an individual makes is whether to begin, prevent, continue, or terminate a pregnancy. Those reproductive health decisions are best made by women, in consultation with their loved ones and health care providers.

(3) In 1965, in Griswold v. Connecticut (381 U.S. 479), and in 1973, in Roe v. Wade (410 U.S. 113) and Doe v. Bolton (410 U.S. 179), the Supreme Court recognized that the right to privacy protected by the Constitution encompasses the right of every woman to weigh the personal, moral, and religious considerations involved in deciding whether to begin, prevent, continue, or terminate a pregnancy.

(4) The Roe v. Wade decision carefully balances the rights of women to make important reproductive decisions with the State’s interest in potential life. Under Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, the right to privacy protects a woman’s decision to choose to terminate her pregnancy prior to fetal viability, with the State permitted to ban abortion after fetal viability except when necessary to protect a woman’s life or health.

What about protecting the life or health of the baby?

(5) These decisions have protected the health and lives of women in the United States. Prior to the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973, an estimated 1,200,000 women each year were forced to resort to illegal abortions, despite the risk of unsanitary conditions, incompetent treatment, infection, hemorrhage, disfiguration, and death. Before Roe, it is estimated that thousands of women died annually in the United States as a result of illegal abortions.

Uh, ok…huh?  Forced is not the correct term here.  Those women let themselves get pregnant because of irresponsibility, because let’s face it, it is ultimately up to the woman to stop herself from getting pregnant.  I don’t see how they were “forced” to get an illegal abortion…why didn’t they just have the baby and then give him/her up for adoption?  This is something I don’t understand…Nobody forced them to do anything (unless they were raped which is a different discussion).

(6) In countries in which abortion remains illegal, the risk of maternal mortality is high. According to the World Health Organization, of the approximately 600,000 pregnancy-related deaths occurring annually around the world, 80,000 are associated with unsafe abortions.

Why have abortions if they are unsafe?  Giving birth in these countries may also be “unsafe”.  The bill doesn’t mention this part.  Do these countries have the most basic of understandings of washing hands and using clean instruments?  The wording here is disturbing.  What does an unsafe abortion in another country have to do with the United States?

(7) The Roe v. Wade decision also expanded the opportunities for women to participate equally in society. In 1992, in Planned Parenthood v. Casey (505 U.S. 833), the Supreme Court observed that, `[t]he ability of women to participate equally in the economic and social life of the Nation has been facilitated by their ability to control their reproductive lives.’.

Whaaaaa????  So, it’s all about living the American Dream at the expense of our children?  We are to stop pregnancy so we can work and “participate equally” in working and paying taxes, hmmmmm?  Again, with the disturbing wording.  It’s very swaying and underhanded.  We women are asked to give up our prime childbearing years so we can become workers in society.  Maybe if we weren’t so busy climbing the career ladder, we wouldn’t be going in for fertility treatments at alarming rates.

(8) Even though the Roe v. Wade decision has stood for more than 30 years, there are increasing threats to reproductive health and freedom emerging from all branches and levels of government. In 2006, South Dakota became the first State in more than 15 years to enact a ban on abortion in nearly all circumstances. Supporters of this ban have admitted it is an attempt to directly challenge Roe in the courts. Other States are considering similar bans.

Yeah for South Dakota!!

(9) Further threatening Roe, the Supreme Court recently upheld the first-ever Federal ban on abortion, which has no exception to protect a woman’s health. The majority decision in Gonzales v. Carhart and Gonzales v. Planned Parenthood Federation of America permits the government to interfere with a woman’s right to choose to terminate a pregnancy and effectively overturns a core tenet of Roe v. Wade by abandoning more than 30 years of protection for women’s health. Dissenting in that case, Justice Ginsburg called the majority’s opinion `alarming,’ and stated that, `[f]or the first time since Roe, the Court blesses a prohibition with no exception safeguarding a woman’s health.’ Further, she said, the Federal ban `and the Court’s defense of it cannot be understood as anything other than an effort to chip away at a right declared again and again by this Court.’.

Yep, a baby can be bad for the woman’s health….therefore, maybe she should NOT get pregnant and get sterilized so that no further pregnancies could happen and then she wouldn’t have to murder her unborn baby…just a thought….Besides, how many women get pregnant when they have cancer and stop chemo, have the baby, and then go on to fight and win the battle against cancer???  Should she have aborted the baby?  Should that baby not have been allowed to live so the woman could stay on chemo?  It’s not the baby’s fault, is it?

(10) Legal and practical barriers to the full range of reproductive services endanger women’s health and lives. Incremental restrictions on the right to choose imposed by Congress and State legislatures have made access to abortion care extremely difficult, if not impossible, for many women across the country. Currently, 87 percent of the counties in the United States have no abortion provider.

Is this supposed to make me sad?

(11) While abortion should remain safe and legal, women should also have more meaningful access to family planning services that prevent unintended pregnancies, thereby reducing the need for abortion.

This is what is really comes down to…if you don’t get pregnant there is no need to murder your child.  So…be responsible, don’t have sex unless you are willing to take up the responsibility of a child.

(12) To guarantee the protections of Roe v. Wade, Federal legislation is necessary.

(13) Although Congress may not create constitutional rights without amending the Constitution, Congress may, where authorized by its enumerated powers and not prohibited by the Constitution, enact legislation to create and secure statutory rights in areas of legitimate national concern.

(14) Congress has the affirmative power under section 8 of article I of the Constitution and section 5 of the 14th amendment to the Constitution to enact legislation to facilitate interstate commerce and to prevent State interference with interstate commerce, liberty, or equal protection of the laws.

(15) Federal protection of a woman’s right to choose to prevent or terminate a pregnancy falls within this affirmative power of Congress, in part, because–

(A) many women cross State lines to obtain abortions and many more would be forced to do so absent a constitutional right or Federal protection;

Maybe these women would think about abstinence….are we just cattle that get pregnant all the time and need to kill our children out of convenience?  The wording here pisses me off, like women will continue to get pregnant and need abortions…no one NEEDS and abortion.  “Forced” is a strong word, don’tcha think?

(B) reproductive health clinics are commercial actors that regularly purchase medicine, medical equipment, and other necessary supplies from out-of-State suppliers; and

(C) reproductive health clinics employ doctors, nurses, and other personnel who travel across State lines in order to provide reproductive health services to patients.

Cha-ching!!  And those doctors and nurses pay taxes on the money they earn from abortions, don’t they?  I wonder if there is another agenda here.

SEC. 3. DEFINITIONS.

In this Act:

(1) GOVERNMENT- The term `government’ includes a branch, department, agency, instrumentality, or official (or other individual acting under color of law) of the United States, a State, or a subdivision of a State.

(2) STATE- The term `State’ means each of the States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and each territory or possession of the United States.

(3) VIABILITY- The term `viability’ means that stage of pregnancy when, in the best medical judgment of the attending physician based on the particular medical facts of the case before the physician, there is a reasonable likelihood of the sustained survival of the fetus outside of the woman.

SEC. 4. INTERFERENCE WITH REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH PROHIBITED.

(a) Statement of Policy- It is the policy of the United States that every woman has the fundamental right to choose to bear a child, to terminate a pregnancy prior to fetal viability, or to terminate a pregnancy after fetal viability when necessary to protect the life or health of the woman.

If a baby is able to live outside of the womb, why kill him/her???

(b) Prohibition of Interference- A government may not–

(1) deny or interfere with a woman’s right to choose–

(A) to bear a child;

(B) to terminate a pregnancy prior to viability; or

(C) to terminate a pregnancy after viability where termination is necessary to protect the life or health of the woman; or

(2) discriminate against the exercise of the rights set forth in paragraph (1) in the regulation or provision of benefits, facilities, services, or information.

(c) Civil Action- An individual aggrieved by a violation of this section may obtain appropriate relief (including relief against a government) in a civil action.

SEC. 5. SEVERABILITY.

Did you know that I was an accidental pregnancy?  So was my husband.  Are our lives not worth protecting because our mothers got pregnant before they wanted to?  Partial birth abortion is disgusting…any abortion is disgusting.  Why do things like this have to happen?  So many families want to adopt and can’t…so many babies want to be born and are killed.  It makes me so sad.

Please sign the petition to keep partial birth abortions illegal.

Our wonderful new president has promised to sign this into law….

This is NOT about women’s health!!  This is about killing our future.

Remember, God IS watching….

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. I am going to class!

Posted by justanotherstayathomemom on January 6, 2009

Well, sort of.  You see, a blog I read called watchgirl posted a link to something called Torah Class (notice what it says a little on down the page, on the left hand side *wink*).  Well, I started it last night and read thru two “classes”.  It’s very cool….VERY COOL!!  The teacher really opened up my mind to what the Word says, and conversely what it doesn’t say.  He talks about the duality of Scripture and, I already knew this (tooting my own horn), how a prophecy can have two meanings.

I am stoked to delve in and learn and learn and learn and…..you get the idea.

The Torah, commomly referred to as The Law, is the first 5 books of the Bible.  They were written by Moses himself.  When did Moses get these teachings from Yaweh (God)?  Well, he got them the same time he got the 10 Commandments!  That is so cool!  Of course, they don’t put that into the movie…do they???  Anywho, Torah is all about how to live a life that worships and is pleasing to Ya.  He put everything in there we are supposed to be doing…even doing today.  Uh, oh…methinks I might be changing some bad habits soon.

So, I am going back to school, sort of.  The best part?  I mean besides growing and learning all I can about Ya and His Word?  It’s totally free!!

Another cool free way to go to school is called Opencourseware.  Here you can find courses from MIT, Stanford and many other colleges.  The notes, syllabus, and lectures are all online and all free!!  Of course you don’t get credit, but at this point in my life, I don’t need credit hours to make me feel good about my level of education, of which I *almost* have an associate degree (snorts cause she *knows* this means nothing in the real world).  I think its totally wack that you can study all this stuff at home for free and get smart for free!!!  Yeah!  Of course, if ya wanted to, you could then take the test and CLEP out of the actual class and get credit, but I’m not sure of how that is done…just know it can be done.

Anyway…I need to call a roofer…the hole in my roof still hasn’t been fixed since the hurricane and yes….it has rained many times.  The last roofer I called no-showed me 3 times.  I guess he doesn’t want to make $8, ooo.  (oh, yeah, you heard that right!  and the insurance check is only for half of that).  Turns out we need a whole new roof….yeah!!

Tonight I am making ropa vieja in the crockpot and it smells awesome.

peace out.

Christmas 2&3

Posted by justanotherstayathomemom on January 6, 2009

Christmas with my mom and step-dad wasn’t so bad this year.  It was a little boring, but we got thru it!  My husband even said it wasn’t so bad, which is BIG for him.  No, my mom didn’t apologize for hanging up on me…didn’t even mention that it happened.

Christmas at home was much better.  Newt, who is 3 years and 8 months (when did THAT happen?) loved his presents and played with them immediately!  Yay!!  Just what I wanted.  We opened a new train set, it spirals up and he immediately wanted to set it up and play with it…the other presents were forgotten.  Until I told him to open something else!  He got a wooden train set, a marble run, a 3 pack of trains, and a bubble maker for the bath tub.  He loved it and wanted more presents, of course.

Hubby’s mom and sister came over for a few hours and it was mostly uneventful.  We did get more gift cards, though!!!  My favorite!!  I have already used them to buy groceries and a gift for someone else…that’s is why I don’t like them….off my soapbox NOW!!

anyway…that’s it!
