“The Christmas Sweater” book review

Posted by justanotherstayathomemom on November 26, 2008

Well, it’s not often that I get to read a whole book, much less buy a book.  I recently bought, gasp, a book and read THE WHOLE THING!!!!  It had nothing to do with children or cooking or housekeeping or anything like that!  The book is a beautiful story about a boy who gets a hand knitted sweater for Christmas instead of the bike he wanted.  It is a tale of how his life is changed dramtically and how he comes to terms with those changes and the fact that he is 13 makes it all the more dramatic because as an adult, I can see how destructive his decisions are and it makes my heart ache for “Eddie”.   This is a cryer, so don’t read it unless you are not wearing make-up and you are alone…unless you don’t mind others seeing you in a sniveling, runny mascara look.  It’s sad and happy and it’s the happy part that made me cry…Funny how that happens, huh?

The book is 284 pages, but the pages are very short…like 3 pages equals one normal page in a regular novel…so it’s a fast read.  I bought it at Sam’s club for 12 bucks and it was well worth it.  I want my hubby to read it…but, we all know how likely that is!  The book is by Glenn Beck and he is an awesome writer and a radio talk show host.  I love his show, although I don’t get to listen to it very often.

So, if you find yourself with a few extra bucks and want to read a great story, go out and read this book…you’ll be glad you did!

One World Order

Posted by justanotherstayathomemom on November 21, 2008

just in case you missed it….

The G20 had a meeting this past weekend about our economy, or lack thereof, and talked about what to do.  Not much was said on the msm, of course.  They plan to meet again in a few months after Obama takes office.

Why do I make mention of this????  Didja notice the title???   Sound familiar???   Have ya read Revelations lately?

Here is the link to the story http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08321/928422-82.stm

The leaders’ 11-page statement spoke of broad principles, leaving the details to be worked out by lower-level aides before another summit meeting in April, after Barack Obama assumes the presidency. But the gathering in Washington of the nearly two dozen nations — from every region of the world — reflected the new balance of power emerging in the aftermath of a financial crisis that has devastated even well-run economies, a wrenching process that British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has dubbed “the birth pangs of this new global order.”  (emphasis mine)

For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.
1Th 5:2-5

Now, I know the above quote didn’t come from Revelations…although this particular event is there.  A one-world government, a one-world currency, a mark on your hand or head to buy food….

I’m just saying….It will come about very slowly, almost like you won’t really notice what is happening.  You know they already have microchiping for humans, dontcha?  http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=48760 and that story is over two years old…first it starts with out pets, then it’s for our safety, as with having our medical records on the chip so that we can be treated by doctors in an emergency situation….remember, the frog jumps out of boiling water, but he will not jump out of cold water that is slowly brought to a boil.

Just go to Youtube and look up RFID; you will get a lot of videos and commercials for it…kinda interesting if ya ask me.  (incidentaly you will also get lots of endtimes, 666, and the like, some of which is good, some you should skip)

What’s next?  One world religion…think it can’t happen?  Think again…

“Russia has come up with an initiative to establish a council of religions as a consultative body under UN auspices that will provide support for the Alliance of Civilizations international project, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told an international conference of foreign ministers from several countries in Astana on Friday.”

“This idea is sometimes treated with suspicion. But this approach is wrong. It is not intended to replace mechanisms functioning in the inter-civilization field. It does not infringe on anyone’s prerogatives, and it is not aimed at creating a dominating position in inter-religious dialogue for anybody,” he said.

“We hope that this objective coincidence of common interests will make it possible to form a permanent platform for religious figures’ dialogue,” Lavrov said.

Right now, the water is still pretty cool, but methinks it’s getting a little warmer with stories like these floating around….

I know I am sounding a little wacko..but better to be aware than to be a sheeple (you now sleeping sheep people who believe everything they see on tv is the truth…)

oh, and if you think the news always tells us the truth, check this out.  It’s old, but I’m sure it’s still happening…

ugh…i don’t like any of this.  i’m not too worried though, i know how the story ends 😉

Pregnant “Man” makes me sad…

Posted by justanotherstayathomemom on November 19, 2008

So, I am watching 20/20, which I hardly ever do anymore…they used to have really great reporting, great stories that were worth watching;  now they seem to do what most tv news/msm seem to do…report on the sensationalism of the week so their sponsors can make money (in this economy?  yeah, right!)  But I digress…

The only story was on the pregnant “man”.  It was an hour long Barbara Walters speacial.  Now, I think she is a good reporter, but somewhat boring as of late…I would like to see better questions…again, I digress…The thing that makes me sad is that, yes…legally he is a man.  Biologically, “he” is a “she” because “he” still has a uterus.  He and his wife are legally married as well, but she is not gay/lesbian (not sure how that works).  They have a 5 month old daughter and are currently expecting again.  They live a “normal” life…the wife even breastfeeds the baby (ya gotta admit, that’s pretty kewl).

As always with these “news” shows, they have other “experts” they interview for soundbites, and for extra fodder that will support whatever bias they are trying to report.  The one guest was a midwife, who exclusively serves gay/lesbian/transgender couples, helps them concieve and give birth, with her delivering (I guess).  She says that mother and father are “social terms” and…..WHAT!!!!  I’m not sure I remember what she said next because I was bitching at the tv…wait, I can rewind my tv…damn, ya gotta love that DVR!

oh, wait, someone else said that mother and father were social terms and that as long as one was called mother or father that is all that matters. (oiy, my aching head)

“The face of family is changing.  It has been changing for a long time and each time that something pushes the edge of that family our society at first tends to think it’s wrong wheather that was people having interracial babies, or weather that was single mothers by choice, or that was gay or lesbian families, the same is true for transgender families.”  the midwife said this…

Ok, while I have no problem with interaccial babies (I mean they are beautiful, aren’t they…I remember when jungle fever came out and couldn’t figure out what the big deal was..I mean if they liked each other what was wrong with them dating….way off subject), I do have a problem with single moms who CHOOSE to have a baby without a husband.  We were created to be our husband’s helpmeet, we are the walls, he is the roof, and Jesus is the foundation.  I HAVE to have a problem with gays having famiies because it goes against my core beliefs…that being said…they do make wonderful parents and I don’t begrudge them at all for adopting.  I will not judge them because that is not my job, it’s God’s job.

Now, God did give us some wonderful technology and fabuously smart people on this planet to make life better for us and to (hopefully) draw us closer to Him.  I cannot imagine His plan for us being that we would turn to our own kind to make families and reproduce in such a way as this couple has chosen.  I mean…she is with another woman…right???  I dunno, it makes me sad…in so many ways.

Leviticus 18:22 is translated: “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”  Remember the story of the Sodom and Gomorrah?  Ya know the one..two Angels came to visit Lot and the men, old and young, came to surround his house and called out to him that he would let the men (Angels) out so they could “know” them.  (Genesis 19)  Ya, that story…remember what happened to those two cities…yeah, ya do, they were destroyed for their sin (terrible sin at that!)

so…we know how Yahweh feels about that…

Thomas Beatie is not the first pregnant “man”.

“Most transgender men who choose to be pregnant are simply choosing to make a family”  Sorry, they may look like a “normal” family, but they are in direct opposition to God and his commands.  I know…I’m a rotten sinner as well…all I can say is I do my very best everyday to walk the path….they are not walking the path or even trying to walk the path…they are digging up the path and directing it to an alternate destination.

35-40 have already done this.  More sadness.

“He had the capacity to have a baby.  That didn’t invalidate him being a man”

Ok…huh?  All throughout the Bible and throughout the history of the world, woman have always given birth to children….Methinks this most certainly invalidates him as a man….most certainly…if he has a uterus and had a vaginal birth (he did), then he is a woman in my book…legally is another matter.  I am thinking if I were up in Heaven with God and Jesus, they would agree with me that “he” is a “she”, wouldn’t you???  Just because she looks like a man doesn’t make her a man irregardless of the fact that the government agrees and says she is a man.

I dunno…I have never wanted to be a man, so I don’t know what that feels like.  I do know that we have a choice in this life.  We can either choose to live the way God made us, or we can radically alter what he has made us to be and then live according to our own selfish desires.  I have watched these shows before with transgenders and gays and they say they have always felt this way, they never felt right.  I feel very sorry for them and cannot imagine life like that.  I know many commit suicide, abuse themselves and others, turn to drugs and other things.

It’s her choice to become a “man” and get married and have kids, but it still makes me sad that as a society we now give this type of story prime time coverage.  This is the way things are made acceptable to us…just like the midwife said…one day this will be “normal”.

That will be a sad day indeed.
